Answer:

The constant in the polynomial is 9. A constant number is a number that does not change during the equation. This equation is 4x² + 9. Since you are just adding 9 the number of 9 does not change. If you were multiplying 9 it would not be a constant anymore because it does not stay the same throughout the equation.
