For figure ABCDEF shown here, identify the image after a clockwise rotation of 240°, or counterclockwise

rotation of 120°. The naming always begins at the top of the figure and proceeds clockwise. For example,
a reflection across AD has an image of AFEDCB. Drag and drop each letter into the correct box to identify
the image after a clockwise rotation of 240°, or a counterclockwise rotation of 120°.

Answer:

Explanation:

Since, ABCDEF is a regular hexagon,

Measure of central angle of a regular polygon =
(360)/(n)

where n = number of sides of the polygon

Measure of central angle of regular hexagon =
(360)/(6) = 60°

That means when we rotate a regular hexagon by an angle in the multiple of 60°, hexagon overlaps itself.

Therefore, by the rotation of 240° clockwise, point C will replace the position of point A.

Image of hexagon ABCDEF will become CDEFAB.

Similarly, after rotation by 120° counterclockwise about the center image hexagon will be EDCBAF.
