We know that the Hypotenuse of a triangle squared is equal to the sum of the legs square,

So A^2 + B^2 = C^2

substitute the values,

3^2 + B^2 = 5^2

9 + B^2 = 25.

Subtract 9 from both sides

B^2 = 25 - 9

B^2 = 16

B = sqrt[16] = 4
