Explain how 5x-3y=2 and 5x-3y=8 are parallel without doing any calculations

Answer:

They're parallel because the first part of the equations have the same numbers/variables (can see down below in bold). This tells us whether or not it's parallel. There's no need for any calculations due to this.

5x - 2y = 2

and

5x - 2y = 8

The answer of the equations doesn't affect it, only is they're the same number. Then it becomes overlap.

For Example:

5x - 2y = 9

and

5x - 2y = 9

they're the same, meaning overlap.
