why is the kings attitude towards the laws of the colonies affect the decision to declare independence?

Also the colonists had no representation in the kings decision. He wanted total rule over the colonies without giving them any way whatsoever in their own lives. This was what brought about the famous quote “no taxation without representation “. They were being made to pay taxes and it wasn’t that they just didn’t want to pay them...they didn’t want to pay without having a representative of their own in parliament.
