The awnser is 78.12 and not 73.12 so his mistake was the adding in the composite figure.

Answer:

60.56m2

Explanation:

Since figure A is a semi circle and figure c as well

We can combine both make a circle

FigureA and C =2semicircle= circle

Area of a circle =πr^2

" " " =3.14*2^2

" " " =12.56m^2

Since the diameter is 4m

Therefore radius =2m

Figure B

A= bh

A= 12*4

A=48m^2

Composite figure

12.56+48=60.56m^2

The mistake was they neglected the fact that figure A and figure B are both semi circles.
