Answer:

Steam engines have been used to run trains and machinery in factories and mines for 72 years before Watt reinvented it. While working at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, he noticed that current steam engines were wasting too much energy. Watt reinvented the steam engine and created a design that was much more efficient and used a lot less fuel than previous models. This meant that it was a lot cheaper to run trains and machinery than ever before, which created a significant increase in mass-production. A steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid. The steam engine uses the force produced by steam pressure to push a piston back and forth inside a cylinder. This pushing force can be transformed, by a connecting rod and crank, into rotational force for work. The term "steam engine" is generally applied only to reciprocating engines as just described, not to the steam turbine. Steam engines are external combustion engines,[1] where the working fluid is separated from the combustion products. the steam engine was a very important invention in the industrial revolution because it helps with transportation and many other things, this is why I think the steam engine is very important

Step-by-step explanation:
