y = 2m + 6

I believe it is a linear function.

6 more than twice of m means that they are referring to m as the unknown and since it being doubled it’s being multiplied by 2 which would make it 2m and since it’s six more it can be written as 2m+6 this is the furthest it can be simplified as you can only collect like terms meaning that a number term (6) cannot be added or subtracted from a different term (2m) so the answer is 2m+6
