Answer: answer to question 2: Jesus was not born in Jerusalem. He was born in Bethlehem, and grew up in Nazareth. He died in Jerusalem. He went to Jerusalem because it was the cultural and economic centre of the land he lived in, so he concluded he would eventually have to go there to spread his message.

After his death, the church relocated to Rome because Rome was at that time the dominant city for the whole Mediterranean region, so just like how Jesus concluded he would eventually have to spread his message from Jerusalem, his followers concluded they would eventually have to spread his message from Rome.
