I felt the warm, moist air

crawl up around me

Intrusive as a hug and

as overwhelming as a sauna

I looked at the flat earth,

Saw the brilliant white cotton

Burst through farmland

And realized

That gifts often come

unwrapped

And that in this moment of heat and light

I am at home"
