In the start of their parts in both stories, both of them are completely innocent. Then, they both get punished for something they said. Tell has no choice in not risking his son's life, but Philoxenus has a choice to lie and escape. Tell is skilled with a bow, but Philoxenus is skilled with wirting. Both are honest and wouldn't tell a lie. Tell sticks up to his rights not to bow to the hat, but Philoxenus does not by letting Dionysius put him in jail for an unwelcome opinion, or a truth. Tell's resolution is solved with his skill, but Philoxenus' isn't.
