Dale is riding on a bike course that is miles long. So far, he has ridden miles of the course. What percentage of the course has Dale ridden so far?

Total distance to be covered with the bike ride = 45 miles

Distance covered till now = 18 miles.

Percentage covered =
(distance \\ covered)/(Total \\ distance)

Therefore as a percentage it shall be =
(18)/(45) = 0.4

Since percentages are presented in whole numbers, the result of division shall be multiplied with 100.

Accordingly, total distance covered in percentage = 0.4
* 100 = 40%
