1). Number of students in the survey = Total of frequencies

= 3 + 5 + 4 + 6 + 3 + 1

= 22

2). Range of number of pets = 6 - 1 = 5

3). Number of pets most student have = Highest frequency of the number of pets

= 4 pets

4). For the median number of pets,

Arrange the frequencies in the increasing order,

1, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6

Since number of terms are even, median of the data will be the average of middle two terms.

Middle terms of the frequencies are 3 and 4.

Therefore, average of these numbers =
(3+4)/(2)=3.5

Therefore, median number of pets = 3.5
