How does volcanic ash in Earth’s atmosphere affect solar radiation?

Answer:

A new study is shown that volcanic ash reflects sunlight or solar radiation months after the volcanic eruption. The volcanic ash consists of minerals, fragments of rocks, volcanic glass which is larger than 2mm. Those tiny particles reflect solar radiation back to space preventing the radiation to heat the Earth's atmosphere below.
