Answer:

y - 27 = 8(x - 3)

Explanation:

The equation of a line in point- slope form is

y - b = m(x - a)

m is the slope and (a, b) a point on the line

Calculate m using the slope formula

m =
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (3, 27) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 8, - 61)

m =
(-61-27)/(-8-3) =
(-88)/(-11) = 8

Using m = 8 and (a, b) = (3, 27) , then

y - 27 = 8(x - 3) ← equation in point- slope form
