Someone please help! I just started chem and what’s an easy way to tell apart chemical and physical changes? For some reason I keep struggling with this :(

Example: ice turns into water and water turns into a water vapour and again it becomes water and again becomes ice.

Chemical changes :

chemical changes are those changes which can transform into other products but cannot transform into his first stage .

Example: milk turns into curd but curd cannot turns into milk

Chemical change:

• not easily reversible
• new product formed
• reactants are used (two products form a new one e.g iron and oxygen forms rust)
• heat is released/absorbed

Example: Wood burns, it releases heat, produces CO2 and ash and you cannot reverse the burning.

Physical Change:

• easily reversible
• no new products formed
• is often a state change

Example: Ice melts, water is formed, water can freeze again.
