Llama buys two identically sized cakes for a party. She cuts the chocolate cake into 24 pieces and the vanilla cake into 20 pieces, and let’s the guests serve themselves. Martin takes three pieces of chocolate cake and one of vanilla, and sheena takes one piece of chocolate and two of vanilla. Which one of them gets more cake?

Answer:

Martin has more cake than Sheena

Explanation:

Chocolate Cake = 24 pieces

Vanilla Cake = 20 pieces

Martin: 3/24, 1/20

Sheena: 1/24, 2/20

Martin:

Step 1:

3/24 + 1/20

Step 2:

60/480 + 24/480 = 84/480

Sheena:

Step 1:

1/24 + 2/20

Step 2:

20/480 + 48/480 = 68/480

Martin has more cake than Sheena

Hope This Helps :)
