The answer is definitely A. Produce a male heir.

I know this because males pass along the family name, not woman since they take on the name of their husband so it cant be D. It's not C because they were more focused on making sons than a ton of children and I know for a fact it's not B because I'm posiitve they didn't encourage marrying multiple men since that could cause many issues.
