Avani is building a rectangular play area. The length of the play area is 7.5 meters. The width of the play area is 5.3 meters. If she wants to cover the area in foam, how much foam does she need to buy?​

Finding the area of a rectangle is (length) * (height). Since you have those values we simply fill them in, so 7.5 * 5.3 = the area in square meters (since you’re dealing with meters, the area will be in square meters). The area you are looking for is then 39.75 square meters based on the equation set up above. So, Avani will need 39.75 square meters of foam if she would like to cover the entire play area.
