Explanation:

1000 miles = x gallons

simply cross multiply

351.6 × x = 1000× 16.4 gallons

351.6x = 16400 gallons

x = 16400÷ 351.6

x= 46.643913538

x = 46.6 gallons (rounded to the tenth place)
