What this means is that every group had different motives and interests, so the leaders and members of each group interpreted different things according to their own perspectives. The Non-Cooperation Movement of 1921 included different groups such as plantation farmers. They wanted more land to grow crops. Peasants and members of tribes desired to be free, emancipating from the rule of England. Another group was the members of the middle classes that desired to put a stop on the importation of products from other countries to increase the sale of their own products.
