Answer:

x=7/20

Explanation:

you have to multiple the outside factor by number which are inside of parenthesis but the signs should be same

3x(4×)=12x

3x(4)=12

2(4x)=8x

2(4)=8

write it as an equation and find the like terms

12x-12+8x-8=3

20x-4=3

Then add 4 and divided

20x-4=3

+4 +4

20x/20=7/20

the is a fraction

x=7/20

Answer:

\boxed{ \bold{ \huge{ \boxed{x = 1}}}}

Explanation:

\sf{3x + 2(4x - 4) = 3}

Distribute 2 through the parentheses

\sf{3x + 8x - 8 = 3}

Collect like terms

\sf{11x - 8 = 3}

Move 8 to right hand side and change it's sign

\sf{11x = 3 + 8}

Add the numbers

\sf{11x = 11}

Divide both sides of the equation by 11

\sf{ (11x)/(11) = (11)/(11) }

Calculate

\sf{x = 1}

Hope I helped!

Best regards!
