Answer:

King George VI build his ethos by stating the reason for course of his action of going to war against Germany.

Step-by-step explanation:

King George VI coronation as a king was held on 12th May, 1937, after his brother Edward abdicated the throne to marry his mistress.

George VI reigned as a king of the United Kingdom during the time of the World War 2, and also played a major role as a leader in the War. On 3rd September, 1939, King George delivered a speech 'In this grave hours...' to his citizen which announced that the country was going in a War against Germany.

Though his position as a king wins him automatic ethos, yet he build ethos by stating the fact that why the country is needed to go to the war. King builds ethos by stating the fact that many other means have been used to bring peace but rise in power have made Germany to do many misdeeds which needs to be stopped by the ways of a War. This build ethos for the common people who realized that as a part of global society, they are needed by their fellow men.

This speech shows the moral character of King George VI which persuaded his citizen to go on the war.
