It was around 1 in the afternoon. I had just woken up from a long night of play games with my friends. My parents had just left the house to go to the pool with my sister and her friends, so I had the house to myself for the rest of the day. I walked outside and yawned the smell of freshly cut grass and the sun blinding me sent me back inside sneezing up a storm. I sat on the couch wondering what I should do today, this was the last week of summer so I wanted to make the most of what was left of it. That to me was being lazy all day long, so that's exactly what I did. I got a blanket and slumped on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in my lap. But if I am being honest, popcorn wasn't what I really wanted, pizza was the move. So I set the oven to 350 and jumped back onto the couch while setting a time on my phone so I didn't burn it like last time. I was still really tired so I thought I could take a nap while the pizza was cooking, after all, I set an alarm so it would wake me up. 2 hours later I woke up to the smell of burning pizza and wood, in a pool of sweat I jumped off the couch and ran over to the oven, by then it was too late. The flame had consumed the oven and the wall behind it. I tried to unlock my phone my fingers where soaked in sweat so I dropped it on the floor, I slide my hand across my pajama pants with reindeer on them, and recovered my phone from the floor. As I ran out of the house feeling a mix of fear and confusion I dialed 911. Right the operator answer my parents and sister pulled into the driveway they jumped out of the car with my mom's phone plummeting to the ground and shattering into peace's, but she didn't seem to notice. The pure expression of terror on her face had overcome all other emotions. Both of my parents ran over to me and asked if I was OK and then what had happened. I explained to them that I had wanted to make pizza and I had fallen asleep shortly after I put it into the oven and didn't hear the alarm I had set going off. As the firetruck reduced the flames that had consumed the entire house by this point my family and I stood there in the front yard, I didn't know what would happen next.
