Answer: Martha earns $24500 annually and Tunde earns $23000 annually.

Explanation:

Let T represent Tunde income and M represent Marth income.

We know that if they add their income together it will be $47,500 so we could write that as and equation as t + m = 47500

It also shows us the relationship between the money that Tunde and Martha earn per year or annually. So if Tunde earns $1500 less than Martha every year then we could also represent it by the equation t= m - 1500

Now we have two equations so we will solve them.

t + m = 47500

t= m-1500 substitute the value of t into the first equation.

m -1500 + m =47500 combine like terms.

2m = 49000

m= 24500

We now know that Martha earns 24500 per year so we will subtract is from the total fe to find how much Tunde earns.

47500 - 24500 = 23000
