116.4 Square Inches

Explanation:

Base Area of the Triangular Pyramid


=\frac12 * 8 * 6.9\\\\=27.6$ square inches

Surface Area of the three sides


=3 * \frac12 * 8 * 7.4\\\\=88.8$ square inches

Therefore, the area of wood needed to build the clock

=27.6+88.8

=116.4 Square Inches
