The mean age of 10 women in an office is 31 years old. The mean age of 3 men in an office is 20 years old. What is the mean age (nearest year) of all the people in the office?

To find the mean of all the people, do 31 plus 20 divided by 2( category of 2 means) = 51/2 = 25.5

Answer: 28 years

Explanation:

To combine the data for all the workers, multiply 31×10 the total ages of the women and 20× 3 for the total ages of the men.

Add 310+60= 370. Then divide by 13, the total number of workers. 370÷13=28.46. You can round to 28 years.
