Answer:

33.5 ft and 24.5 ft

Explanation:

PQ= l

PS= w = l - 9

lw- (l - 8)(w - 8)=400

l(l-9)- (l - 8)(l - 9 - 8)=400

l²-9l - (l - 8)(l - 17)=400

l² - 9l - l² +25l -136=400

16l= 536

l=536/16

l= 33.5 ft

w= 24.5 ft

Answer:

= x + 17

Explanation:

The length of PQ is the distance of the walkways plus the length of garden plus the walkway

= (4+x+9+4)

Add the terms together

= x + 17
