W- Why was the Reconstruction Era so important in American history and why is it called ‘reconstruction’?
R- knowing the reason it’s called reconstruction may help increase understanding, knowing the importance may cause less of a mix up between reconstruction and other eras in the US history

A- called reconstruction because it reconstructed the states, starting point to a ‘new’ America

I- created the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments and allowed certain slaves to vote

T- the Reconstruction Era is rewrote the Constitution by giving basic rights to previous slaves, helped reunite the states after the Civil War

E- slaves earned several basic rights

C- several loopholes that enabled people to have slaves
