8/3 = x/42

Explanation:

~ If the ratio of sheep:horse is 8:3, and there are 42 horses on the farm, then that means that there are 14 times more horse than 3. Which just means that ~ 3·14 = 42

~ So we just have to take 8 (The number of sheep), and multiply it by 14, like we did to the number of horse.

~ 8 · 14 = 112

~ Now the new ratio of sheep:horse is 112:42
