F(x)=x^2+10 what is the average rate of change of f over the Interval [-2,-1]?

Answer: -3

Explanation:

The average rate of change is
(f(b)-f(a))/(b-a). All we have to do is to plug in our values.

a=-2

b=-1

f(b)=f(-1)=(-1)²+10=11

f(a)=f(-2)=(-2)²+10=14

With our values listed, all he have to do is to plug them in.


(11-14)/(-1-(-2)) =(-3)/(1)=-3
