Steps:

blue chips = 8

pink chips = 9

white chips=1

total = 18

Description:

As we know that the blue chips was 8, pink chips was 9, and white chips was 1. We plus all the numbers and your answer will equal as 18. Since the pink chips are 9 and the total is 18, we put then as a fraction. So 9/18=1/2. But the answer will be 1/4

Answer: 1/4

1st draw:

pink chip = 9/18 = 1/2

2nd draw:

pink chip = 9/18 = 1/2

Answer:

1/4

Explanation:

8 blue chips 9 pink chips 1 white chip = 18 chips

P( pink) = pink/total = 9/18 = 1/2

Replace

8 blue chips 9 pink chips 1 white chip = 18 chips

P( pink) = pink/total = 9/18 = 1/2

P(pink, replace, pink) = 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4
