Iven: x + 2y = -6. Solve for y.

y = -x/2 -3

Explanation:

So there are LOTS of ways you can choose to do this, but this is how i do it:

I like to move all the x to one side first, so:

2y = -x -6

Then we have to divide everything by 2 to get y on its own:

y = -x/2 -3

*you can divide first too if you want, i find that this keeps it nice and simple though
