with (x₁, y₁ ) = (0, 4) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (2, 6) ← 2 points on the line

(6-4)/(2-0) =
(2)/(2) = 1

The y- intercept is the y- coordinate of the point where the line crosses the y- axis.

Here the y- intercept = 4
