Answer:

At new moon, the Moon is lined up between the Earth and the Sun. We see the side of the Moon that is not being lit by the Sun (in other words, we see no Moon at all, because the brightness of the Sun outshines the dim Moon!)

Step-by-step explanation:

i got that from the test

Answer:

A new moon happens if the Moon is in the middle of the Sun and the Earth. The further side of the Moon is in full sunlight and the near side of the Moon doesnt get sunlight. The dark face of the moon can not be seen because sunlight illuminates the atmosphere.
