When the plane cuts the cone at an angle between a perpendicular to the axis (which would produce a circle) and an angle parallel to the side of the cone (which would produce a parabola), the curve formed is an ellipse.

If the plane that cuts the conical surface is perpendicular to its axis, the section is a circle. If the plane that cuts the conical surface is tilted so that it cuts all the generators, the section obtained is an ellipse.

Answer:

Answer:

hyperbola

Explanation:

given data

double-napped cone = 60°

plane intersecting cone angle = 50°

solution

conic section is formed hyperbola because here plane intersecting the cone makes an angle of 50° is less than angle b/w generator and central axis of 50°

hope this helps
