Look box 1 given H + is 1.0 x 10 ^-4
Given information as we know that pH + pOH = 14. [H][OH] = 1.0 x 10 ^ -14.
Solve for OH by with the following method.
1.0x10^-4[OH]= 1.0 x 10^ -14, OH = 1.0x10^10. Next row pH = [H], since H + is 1.0 x 10 ^-4. Use calculator plug in -log (1.0x10^-4). Then pH is 4. If pH + pOH = 14. Use 14 - 4 = 10, pOH is 10.
The pH range from 0 to 7 which is acid.
Follow the same method to solve the rest.
