Explanation:

The easy way to do this is to graph it

Now look at the graph, sense the line is negative the slope will be negative

Remember slope is always y/x

Now count the number of squares going up from (2,-2) to (2,4)

It’s 6 units

So far we have -6/x

To get x we now count the number of units from (0,4) to (2,4), 2 units

-6/2 is the slope

If you need it simplified divide each side by 2

-3 is also the slope

The reason you can find the slope like this is because if you had a line going straight up from (2,-2) and a line straight across from (0,4), (2,4) is the point where both those points intercept.
