Find the x-intercepts for the parabola defined

by this equation:
y=3x² + 6x-9
Write your answer as two ordered pairs:
(x1,71). (x2.2)
Separate the values with a comma. Round, if
necessary, to the nearest hundredth,

Answer:

(- 3, 0 ), (1, 0 )

Explanation:

To find the x- intercepts, let y = 0, that is

3x² + 6x - 9 = 0 ( divide through by 3 )

x² + 2x - 3 = 0 ← in standard form

(x + 3)(x - 1) = 0 ← in factored form

Equate each factor to zero and solve for x

x + 3 = 0 ⇒ x = - 3

x - 1 = 0 ⇒ x = 1

The x- intercepts are (- 3, 0 ), (1, 0 )
