x= 10

Explanation:

Complementary angles add to 90 degrees

<1 + <2 = 90

70 +2x = 90

Subtract 70 from each side

70+2x-70 =90-70

2x = 20

Divide each side by 2

2x/2 = 20/2

x = 10
