Put the value of y from equation (2) to equation (1), so,


3x - 2(-7x - 22)=-7\\\\3x+14x+44=-7

Taking variables on one side and constant on another side.


17x=-7-44\\\\17x=-51\\\\x=-3

Put x = -3 in equation (2) i.e.


y=-7(-3) - 22\\\\y=-1

So, the value of x and y are (-3) and (-1) respectively.
