How are women’s roles addressed in “A Rose for Emily”? What happens to women trapped in these traditional roles, as seen in this story?

This shows that during this time, women were not believed to be able to survive without a man to care for her. In many of these traditional roles, the women are seen as helpless without the care of a male figure, and society made them look like they could not care for themselves in any way.
