Answer:

(x)/(100) = (69.3)/(15.4)

Where x represent the total amount of gallons used everyday. And solving for x we got:

x = 100* (69.3)/(15.4)= 450 gal

So then everyday we will expect using about 450 gallons of water

Explanation:

For this case we can use a proportional rule. We know that 15.4% of the water used each day is for cooking and the amount using for cooking is 69.3 gallons. So we can set up the following equation:

(x)/(100) = (69.3)/(15.4)

Where x represent the total amount of gallons used everyday. And solving for x we got:

x = 100* (69.3)/(15.4)= 450 gal

So then everyday we will expect using about 450 gallons of water

Answer:

They use 450 gallons every day.

Explanation:

This question can be solved using a rule of three.

69.3 gallons is 15.4% = 0.154. How many gallons is 100% = 1?

69.3 gallons - 0.154

x gallons - 1

0.154x = 69.3

x = (69.3)/(0.154)

x = 450

They use 450 gallons every day.
