S = 1564

Explanation:

S = 12 + 22 + 32 + .. + 172

= 12 + (12+10) + (12+20) + .. + (12+160)

= 10(1 + 2 + .. + 16) + 12×17

= 10×16×17/2 + 12×17

= 1360 + 204

= 1564
