Answer:

73.914...

Explanation:

To find the area of a sector in the circle the formula would be...

Area= angle/360(pi*radius^2)

*=multiply

if the diameter of the circle is 22 m

22/2=11

So the radius is 11m

A semicircle is 180 degrees, so if the sector on the other side of the semicircle that is not shaded is 110 degrees...

180-110= 70

so the angle in the shaded sector is 70 degrees

plugging in all the information into the formula..

A= 70/360 (pi*11^2)

(FOLLOW ALONG WITH A CALCULATOR)

11 to the 2nd power is 121

A=70/360 (pi*121)

If the question tell you to use the pi button (3.141592654..)

then it would be pi times 121= 380.132....

70 divided by 360 is 0.1944..

(keep the long number on your calculator when you multiply)

Putting this into your calculator if you used the pi button it would be

3.14.... times 121= 380.132..

keep that number then enter in...

times (70 divided by 360)

press enter and you should get an answer of 73.914...

(round how ever the question tells you)

I hope this helps
