At one farmer’s market, bananas cost $0.80 per pound. At another farmer’s market, bananas are sold in 5-pound bags for $4.50 per bag. Which explains how to find the better buy? Divide 4.50 by 5 to find the unit rate for the 5-pound bag, and compare that number to $0.80 per pound. Divide 0.80 by 5 to find the unit rate for the 5-pound bag, and compare that number to $0.80 per pound. Multiply 4.50 by 5 to find the cost for 5 pounds, and compare to $4.50 per bag. Multiply 4.50 by 0.80 to find the cost for 5 pounds, and compare to $4.50 per bag.

Answer:

Explanation:

at 1 farmers market it is 80 cents per lb. <== better buy

at the other one it is 4.50 per 5 lbs....to find out how much it is per lb, simply divide the cost by the lbs.

4.50/5 = 0.9...so here, it costs 90 cents per lb....so this IS NOT the better buy.

Answer:

A.) Divide 4.50 by 5 to find the unit rate for the 5-pound bag, and compare that number to $0.80 per pound.

Explanation:

So when you divide the price $4.50 by the 5 pound bag it cost $0.90 cents ,so the the $0.80 is the better buy. Also, I took the test and got a %100.

Hope I helped ;)
