Answer:

Lili will catch up with Jon at 8:00 pm and at 24 miles.

Explanation:

I will show you how many miles they have walked at their rates per hour. This means every hour after they started walking, their miles per hour gets multiplied. Jon was going 3 miles per hour and Lili was going 4 miles per hour. Jon finished his first hour at 1 pm.

12:00 pm: Jon- 0 miles. Lili- 0 miles.

1:00 pm: Jon- 3 miles. Lili- 0 miles.

2:00 pm: Jon- 6 miles. Lili- 0 miles.

3:00 pm: Jon- 9 miles. Lili- 4 miles.

4:00 pm: Jon- 12 miles. Lili- 8 miles.

5:00 pm: Jon- 15 miles. Lili- 12 miles.

6:00 pm: Jon- 18 miles. Lili- 16 miles.

7:00 pm: Jon- 21 miles. Lili- 20 miles.

8:00 pm: Jon- 24 miles. Lili- 24 miles.

Hope this helped.
