A population of 1200 rabbits increases by 2.5% each year. At the end of 5 years, there will be approximately 1,358 rabbits in the population. Which function can be used to determine the number of rabbits, y, in this population at the end of t years

Answer: y= 1200 (1.025)^t

Explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to apply an exponential growth function:

A = P (1 + r) t

Where:

p = original population

r = growing rate (decimal form)

t= years

A = population after t years

Replacing with the values given:

1200= 1200 (1+ 2.5/100)^5

1200= 1200 (1+ 0.025)^5

1200= 1200 (1.025)^5

For the number of rabbits, y, at the end of t years

y= 1200 (1.025)^t
