Explanation:

First, draw lines or count how many units are between each point. Don't go diagonal, just up/down or left/right, like from point B to point A.

So I counted 5 units from point B to A, 5 units from C to D, 7 units from A to D, and 7 units from B to C.

Now, you choose two sides - one that goes up/down and one that goes left/right. This is your base and your height.

So you should have 5 and 7. Now, the equation of a rectangle is base times height (b* h) so you multiply 5 and 7 together to get your answer, 35 units ^2
