  • Angles on a straight line sum up to 180°
  • 115° + Y = 180°
  • Y = 180° - 115° = 65°
  • Angles in a triangle sum up to 180°
  • X + Y + Z = 180°
  • (4k + 5)° + (6k + 10)° + 65° = 180°
  • We turn everything into degrees
  • 4k° + 5° + 6k° + 10° + 65° = 180°
  • We then sum up the "like" terms (as in, we put all the k together, and put all the normal numbers together)
  • 10k° + 80° = 180°
  • 10k° = 180° - 80° = 100°
